Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station - 2003
Smoke + Natural Ventilation System
The Queen opened the new £55million Railway Concourse, with 7 no. ETFE 3.5m x 3.5m massive roof vents
opening 1000mm. These new BSY controlling rack & pinion actuators were linked with specially designed
locking actuators to provide the necessary pressure force when closed. Control was provided by a smoke
ventilation panel with weather sensors for natural ventilation. |

Smith Partnership Service Engineers. 105 no. Single & Twin Chain 24volt Chain Actuators. Multi-zone Smoke
Ventilation Control Panels with remote status indication for each vent.

Wolverhampton University MC Block - 2002
Smoke + Natural + Manual Ventilation Systems
After liaison with RMJM Architects, we provided a showcase for the full spectrum of products and services
that Dyer can offer! Over 250 BMS-controlled, concealed chain actuators for natural ventilation in the
classrooms. Over 1000mm stroke actuators and door drives provided for smoke ventilation. To finish,
the laboratories were provided with manual Teleflex remote winding gear.

Smoke + Natural Ventilation System
Various Smoke & Natural Ventilation Systems designed in close co-operation with White Young Green Consultants,
incorporating a full service and maintenance contract. Included 24volt chain actuators and control panels
providing smoke ventilation via a fire alarm interface. Also provided 230volt chain actuators and switches to
classrooms. All the actuators (over 100 no.) were to specific RAL colours.

Natural & Manual Ventilation Systems
230volt electrical chain actuators are operated from key switches for staff use. In addition, we installed
manual Teleflex Remote Winding Gear, specially coloured to suit the dark aluminium profile.

Seaham Hall Hotel, County Durham - 2001
Smoke + Natural Ventilation System
This high-tech hotel features all the latest features for the pampered customer. The atrium now has a similarly
ultra-modern ventilation system. This incorporates a stand-alone natural ventilation system with incremental
opening upon temperature change with a weather station override. The fire alarm link allows for smoke ventilation
of the whole atrium.
