In excess of 300 vents were required to have remote opening for the timber composite
facades contractor. A combination of manual spindle devices were incorporated along
with RAL coloured twin chain actuators for natural ventilation. Dyer then worked
alongside the M&E contractor to provide smoke and BMS control for smoke vents and glass
louvres. |

Another opportunity to showcase both the remote manual Teleflex opening system as well
as the proven D+H Mechatronic smoke ventilation system in the same project. The smoke
vents required a chain actuator with a 500N force. Our “total solution” approach
allowed us to demonstrate our credentials by working both with the curtain walling
contractor (actuators) and the M&E contractor (control system). |

This year has seen a host of major sporting events such as the Olympic games, Euro 2004 and the Rugby
World Cup, but none of them can compare with the sheer drama and excitment of Dyer Environmental Controls'
English Sports Day, says the company. This high spirited sporting weekend forum held for D+H distributors
from round the world. As one spectator commented: "Rarely has so little talent been seen on a field of
play." Eggs were dropped, balloons were popped and three legged horses fell at every hurdle,
but the competitors from as far a field as Australia, SE Asia and across Europe enjoyed every minute of
this sporting extravaganza held at the Marriott Hotel in Worsley Manchester. |

Dyer Environmental Controls hosted it's weekend forum in recognition of it's winning D+H's Mechatronic
distributor of the year beating off entrants from more than 50 overseas competitors to pick up the award.
Sales manager, Jon Crossley, said: "This has really been the icing on the cake for us as a company, in a
period that has seen us working on ever more presigious contracts and moving to larger premises to cope
with the extra workload, the award is valuable recognition of the developments we've made in all aspects
of our business." |
